Andrew P Goffstown , NH March 08, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Microwave Hood Combo SMH1713S/XAA-0001 Samsung microwave oven failed complete power loss The 2 year old Samsung overhead unit completely failed. It showed no power - no clock, lights, or anything. My wife wanted to go back to the store to complain and buy a complete new unit. This unit had a 1 year warranty. I thought we could perhaps figure out which component was the cause of the failure and replace it for much less money. We took down the unit and removed its cover. With some test cycles, it appeared that the 'Assy Noise Filter' would spark and the oven would lose power. I have replaced the suspected component. So far, tests prove the oven to be functional. I plan on installing the oven in its rightful place later today. Replacing the component was hugely cheaper than a complete new oven. It was very easy to handle.
