Bruce W Macedon , NY August 18, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WFW8300SW03 I was informed of an f24 error code which is a water sensor error this was accompanied by a series of rapid beeping sounds The water sensor electrical plug had fallen off due to the extreme vibration of the internal stainless steel clothes basket. The attachment struts had corroded, broken off and sent small pieces into the discharge pump which, in turn, had plugged up and caused the beeping. This is not a simple repair. The pump itself was not damaged and was easily cleaned out. However, the replacement of the basket requires disassembly of the entire machine in order to split the plastic tub where the basket and shaft assembly resides. I purchased the new basket which comes with the struts and shaft already assembled. In my opinion this repair requires a good deal of mechanical experience, and patience, with the ability to remember the order of disassembly for reassembly purposes. Suggest taking a lot of pictures. I used two large flat blade screwdrivers to "pop" the clips off holding the plastic tub together and a dead blow hammer to reassemble. You may need an impact wrench to remove the nut from the shaft holding the external belt pulley in place. I used a torque wrench with 60 ft lbs of torque for reassembly. Pay close attention to keeping the tub o-ring gasket in place during reassembly. There are raised marks on the tub for clip positioning. Clean everything thoroughly before reassembly being careful not to get water, soap etc. in the bearing and seal cavity. Tape it off if necessary. Machine is now up and running flawlessly.
