Harry S Belvidere , NJ May 23, 2023 Appliance: Model WTW4950HW3 The metal om metal sound at the end of the spin cycle. Also found gearcase oil covering the inside of the drive belt plastic cover. Replaced the Gearcase assembly which is a sealed unit that is not serviceable. Also replaced the clutch and belt because they were covered in gearcase oil. Wayne B New Lenox , IL November 07, 2025 Appliance: Maytag Washer MVWC565FW2 Worn drive belt Unplug from receptacle, disconnect water lines, lay towel on ground, flip machine over on its front side resting on the towel, remove belt cover, replaced belt and cover. May need a helper when flipping machine on its front side. Do not attempt to replace the belt by leaning the washer against a wall instead of laying it down.
