Description

This defrost bi-metal thermostat senses evaporator temperature during the defrost cycle and opens to stop heater power at the safe cutoff. Replacing a failed thermostat restores reliable defrosting and helps prevent ice buildup that restricts airflow and cooling.

• Monitors evaporator temperature to control the defrost heater
• Closes when cold to allow defrost; opens at cutoff to terminate defrost and prevent overheating
