Thomas S Lockport , IL August 26, 2015 Appliance: Model KFP740CR1 Blade broke off kitchenaid food processor and jammed on motor shaft couldn't remove blade holder or bowl Had to use 2 right-angle screwdrivers to pry broken blade holder off shaft. Used bowl like slide hammer to get holder completely off. The blade must have stuck in to the plastic bowl as high speed, as it stopped so abruptly that the steel motor shaft, which has two flats on it, rotated inside the plastic sleeve, bulging the two flats against the inside of the blade holder, which is why it was so difficult to remove. In hindsight, I should have taken a 1/4 drill to the plastic center of the broken blade holder. Then, the puller I had could have been used to remove the holder much easier. The same puller easily removed the sleeve from the motor shaft. The center pin on the puller went right through the top of the plastic sleeve and against the steel motor shaft. I decided not to replace the seal, as I would have had to remove the motor from the housing. Hand-pressed the new sleeve on to the motor shaft, and food processor is good to go! BTW, received parts 2 days after placing order – VERY good service from AppliancePartsPros.com!
