Ringo G Dallas , TX October 25, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LAT9316AAM 16 year old maytag washer leaking water With the help of other reviews - I decided to replace the Mounting Stem and Tub Bearing. I had already looked inside the washer and saw no other place for a leak. The kits had everything I needed. I purchased replacement tub bolts since they had the washers on them also. The video for this repair was essencial for the repair. It tells all the steps, hidden screws, reverse thread collars, the spanner wrench you MUST have - even having to run a spin cycle to set the seals. The shaft bearing sleeve wouldn't budge - sprayed with WD40 and let sit overnight. Thought I was going to have to cut off. Next day - started to cut with dremmel tool. Sleeve bearing just pulled right off. No cutting needed. This web site is a HUGE resource - for both information and parts. I will be back. I also used the diagrams for my washer to trace a failed lid switch that was blowing the glass fuse. Again, a great resource this site is. Read More... Roger R Fridley , MN April 13, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LAT8816AAE We returned from an extended trip to a leaky washer the tub bearing was leaking I first went on Maytag .com to see if I could find the right part and found a video to repair it. I watched the video and decided I could do this myself. I would need to buy 1 tool ( a Spanner wrench under $17.) and so I took the washer apart. After getting all the old parts off the washer I looked up the new parts and ordered them from Appliance parts PRO.com on Monday afternoon and the new parts came on Wed. morning and after watching the repair video again my wife was washing our clothes again on Friday. I am very impressed with all the help from Appliance parts and the video plus the great service. Read More...
