Alan S Las Vegas , NV May 17, 2020 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator ED5JHEXTQ00 Not making ice. Replaced the ice maker. The kit came with everything I needed to replace the ice maker. Parts that did not come with the kit were re-used from the old one. My Whirlpool refrig/freezer is an older model so the wiring harness that came with the kit was different from my existing. So instead of disconnecting the ice maker wiring harness from the freezer, I had to disconnect the harness at the ice maker. That was a b..... Anyway after about 20 minutes, finally unhooked the connector. I had to clean a bit of corrosion from the "hot" contacts (probably why the connector was stuck). Once that was done the rest of the installation was straight forward. I could not drop the ice maker unto the two screws and then tighten the lower bracket because the bracket hole would not line up with the screw. I had to loosen the bracket to the ice maker and tighten everything up once everything lined up. Making ice now!!! Read More...
