Later figured out all I needed to do was take the burner out and shake it repeatedly until all the carbon and charred paint flakes came out. Did that to the other three burners. Had to replace a connector on one igniter wire on each burner. Cleaned the rust from around the burner seat. John S Medford , MA December 21, 2018 Malfunctioning top burner. Ordered replacement top burners. They were easy to repair by twisting old burners counter wise to remove, and removed the two little plugs attached. Installed new burners, first reinsert back 2 little plugs, center burner and place over the triangular indentations, press down and twist quarter turn clockwise to lock in place. Done.
