William Y Dallas , TX March 31, 2020 Appliance: KitchenAid 42" Built In Refrigerator KSSC42FMS01 Heard a loud bang after opening fridge and then fridge started acting weird, the door closer cam came apart from the part that closes the switch and tells that fridge that the door is closed We initially called a tech and he found out that problem was the door close mechanism. Because our fridge is pretty old, he was unable to order the required part. I searched APP and found the OEM part!! Even during the pandemic APP was able to have it on my door step the next day. Evidently this is a common problem with this design. If you have the parts, it is an easy fix. I think I used a T15 end for the screw. (It isn't flat or philips head.) Be sure you buy the Cam, Screw, and Bushing together. Very few threads hold the screw onto the cam and it is under a lot of stress due to heavy spring load. Poor design. Anyway, easy fix and everything is working perfectly now thanks to Appliance Parts Pros!
