George J Hopewell , IL March 02, 2020 Lid switch was not turning on, washer filled but didn't wash spin etc I replaced the switch, the plunger, plunger guide and the lid cam, but the cam still didn't turn on the switch. Turned out someone had stood on the washer and bent the lid slightly, not enough to notice, but since I had ruled out just about everything else I started looking at the lid itself. I ended up bending it back close to it's original shape and now it works fine. I guess I learned a few things about washing machines though. One lesson is when you pull off the controls, the hose leading to the pressure sensor can come off which can lead to the water not turning off during the fill, and your basement gets totally flooded. Watched video online, replacement was a piece of cake. Parts arrived for washer, which was Maytag Atlantis, matched perfectly with old parts. Slid washer away from wall, unplugged washer, removed rear cover from control panel. Unplugged wiring at connector, snapped old part out, new part snapped right in. Reconnect wires, and worked perfectly. Wife impressed.
