Jared T Johnson City , TN April 02, 2019 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator GI5SVAXVL01 Ice/water dispenser quit working when pad was pressed turns out my 2 year old son pulled the dispenser pad forward and caused the parts to warp out of place Repairman said I'd need to replace the entire chute inside at a cost of nearly $400! Ordered the chute myself for a little over $100. Took me about a half an hour to carefully disassemble the water/ice dispenser and replace with the new one. The job wasn't hard, I'm just not a very "handy" guy but I love a good challenge and am very careful not to pull and pry on things which may break. It was literally only 4 screws that had to be removed and some wiring harnesses holding everything together. Easy out, easy in, fridge dispenser now works and I saved $300. Couldn't have done it without the parts diagram provided by AppliancePartsPros. Quick shipping provided by APP got the part to my house in 2 days.
