Walter F West Harwich , MA March 20, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator JFC2089HES13 Right door on our french door jenn air refrig kept opening when left one was closed 1st The right door on our Jenn Air French Door Refrigerator would pop open & not fully close when the left door was closed first. Called the local distributor/dealer who advised me that the magnetic door gasket probably needed replacement (cost $300.00 + for the repair) What??? Visited you web site where I noted the right door had a "closure & bushing" on the bottom of the door. Could it be this was the problem fix? Took the right door off & examined both pieces. Sure enough the bushing was split in 2 pieces and the "door closure" cam was slightly worn. Ordered both pieces for less than $30.00 shipped. Received the pieces very quickly...remove old pieces...installed new...problem solved. The whole process including the initial inspection & reinstallation took less than a half hour. Glad I checked your site with its very clear "exploded views" & customer reviews of the refrig. Anyone who is remotely handy can perform this repair...Thanks...You have a new customer for life. However, reading some of the tech suggestions no mention was made of the bushing, only the closure. You should change both of these as they work together to keep the door from opening on it's own. William H Sierra Vista , AZ December 17, 2014 Appliance: Amana Refrigerator ABD2533DEQ A refrigerator door would not seal it had been blown off in a wind storm A friends family had left her refrigerator out on a porch while they were remodeling the house she was supposed to move into. A wind storm blew the refrigerator off the porch and tore the door off. It wasn't dented at all, but when her son pu the door back on, it wouldn't seal. She asked for some help fixing it. I ordered replacement parts for the upper and lower hinge. The parts arrived quickly. I unscrewed the top hinge which was slightly bent. Set the door on its side and replaced the bent door stop and the broken Door Closure(this was the real cause of the problem). Put the door back on the bottom hinge and fastened the new top hinge in place. Like magic the door sealed like it should.
