Michael G Franklin Park , NJ March 12, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WFW9050XW00 Would stop in wash cycle and then shut own. Could not bring up any error codes.. Contacted "Just Answer" for diagnosis. They determined that it was the control module. After changing module I could not get machine to turn on. Double & triple checked & then went to troubleshooting instructions in machine. Turned out that one of the wires in the harness from the control pad had chafed through & finally broke. The chafed wire probably shorted out against the frame where it passed through and caused the damage to the control module. Repaired wire and protected opening with duct tape. Everything works fine.
