Grant Z Graham , NC November 22, 2019 Appliance: Maytag Electric Oven MEW7630DS02 Maytag dbl wall oven MEW7630DS02 error code F1 : E1 It needs to be said that Appliance Parts Pro is the premier DIY parts supplier. Their CS and Chat are A+. The CS Chat technician found the part I needed for my oven after giving her the error code. Granted, the part was a wee bit expensive, but the 360 days, no questions asked, return policy is worth the extra cost. The Skinny For the past year, the F1:1 error code would display. Never could figure out why or when it would happen. The very first error code happened when after finishing baking we left the door open to warm up the kitchen after turning off the oven. This worked years ago when the oven was not electronically controlled. I think the Electronic Control, which contains the clock, overheated. The code identified as a Runaway Temperature error. I ordered the part, paid for two-day shipping and received the part--Cntrl-Elec--in two days. Repair Today, Friday, November 22, 2019, I replaced the Electronic Control. The oven was still resting on the feet. 5. unscrewed two screws on the left and right side of the touchpad control panel. I needed to buy a stubby Phillips head screwdriver for the left side. I only had 4-inch space to work in. 6. With the panel gently hanging by the ground wire and ribbon cable, I disconnected the control panel connection. 7. removed two hex screws and removed the defective control board and put the new one in. 8. Reversed the steps and put everything back together, I was very concerned that I would not be able to slide the oven out 1-2 inches out because of its weight. With the doors off, however, it was easy peasy. Had to tilt it forward a wee bit but it was easier than I thought. The difficulty level might be 2 wrenches. Turned the power back on and set the clock. Baking Dutch Oven bread later today. Cross my fingers that the new control board was the problem. I wish I could add a couple of pictures. There is a video online about changing out the entire panel--electronic, touchpad, and trim. It was for a KitchenAid and very helpful. The KitchenAid looked just like my Maytag. 6.
