Todd W Alhambra , IL December 13, 2015 Appliance: Model MAYTAG LAT 2500AAE Agitator kept floating up when washing and would not wash or agitate I bought the $6.00 plastic clip that holds the agitator In place while washing and the $10.50 spanner wrench that takes the 2 top nuts off to get to the agitator stem the other tools necessary for the job which are just a couple of things I already had then watched the video on line of how to do the job and then did it the whole thing took about 2 hours plus I took my time and gave both tubs a very good cleaning. Eddie H Sandia Park , NM February 29, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LAT8426AAE Collar on transmission agitator shaft became loose and allowed the attached agitator to float upward and fill the transmission with wash water Removed agitator, inner washer barrel, and agitator shaft then drained all the water and emulsified oil out of the transmission. Filled the transmission with new oil and then replaced the worn agitator shaft, shaft collar, shaft o-ring and stem sealing system. Shang S Bedford , VA January 14, 2022 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LAT2500AAE Agitator floating up shaft coming out of transmission. Not one to patch a job, I ordered all seal kit, bearing kit, new shaft keeper, transmission oil, spanner wrench. I have the newer version of the agitator shaft so it does not have the groove for the internal clip. I Custom ground a thick washer so that as the agitator shaft goes into the transmission it fit flush into the slot for the old style shaft clip. With the plastic keeper in position I marked and pull the shaft. I drilled a hole that would be fit tight against the custom washer and used an eight penny nail bent around the shaft as a permanent internal keeper. The agitator shaft will not come out of the transmission again. Larry R Trout Run , PA October 15, 2017 Agitator collar was worn out allowing the agitator to float. Replaced collar, and also tub bearings. Parts fit perfectly and the time it took to receive the parts from ordering to receiving was less than 24 hours. Outstanding service!!!!
