Collin H Quincy , WA October 23, 2014 Appliance: Model 106.71204100 No cooling and no hum from compressor when plugged in I suspected the start-relay and tested it due to the lint plugged condenser coils. The start-relay rattled when shook, a telling sign it is no good due to over heating. I tested the compressor terminals and compared them the results with the Tech Data Sheet found with the unit, to find my compressor was still good. I checked the start capacitor with a capacitor tester, comparing the results with the rating printed on the side of the capacitor and found it to be good. I cleaned the condenser coils and ordered the replacement part, looking it up by using my model number here on Appliancepartspros.com. The part arrived in two days. Following the instruction that came with the new part, I installed the part and my refrigerator now works like it used to. The instructions are easy to follow step by step and they tell you exactly how to hook it up depending on your compressor model.. My advise would be to write down or draw a diagram of which wire color goes to which terminals before you take off the old/worn out part. Just using your memory can play tricks on your mind. Dennis B Far Rockaway , NY March 17, 2014 Refrig not getting cold When there was no evidence of the freezer working at all, focus on the problem was made at the compressor. Sure enough, the relay was not functional. Once replaced the unit is like new again. Appliancepartpros.com had the part sent out fast so down time wasn't a major crisis.
