David B Pearland , TX September 30, 2014 Dishwasher would not start only two console lights illuminated when buttons were pressed Based on other YouTube videos and the discussion of the most likely causes and some electrical testing, it appeared to be an electronic control unit failure. The thermal fuse had not failed and the door latch switch appeared to be working. However replacement of the electronic control unit made no changes. Additional tests confirmed the high temperature switch had not failed. A closer look at the complete Dryer documents (which at first looked too complicated to understand) provided a whole sequence of grouped diagnostic steps. Eventually a found a simple test operation of the dishwasher with the console disconnected. The operation of the drain motor confirmed that the console panel had failed (not the electronic control unit). Lesson - Carefully read all dishwasher documents even if they look to be too complicated for the average person. There may be simple disgnostic methods to identify the failed part.
