Ben R Huntsville , AL May 11, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Undercounter Dishwasher GU1500XTKT0 Dishwasher would start by itself it would also sometimes start a new cycle immediately at the end of a cycle I decided that the problem was either the control board (the controller) or the front panel, with the front panel being much more likely to be the culprit. The membrane contacts used in the front panel are subject to wear, and I could easily see how wear or contamination could cause the controller to think that a button had been pressed. I ordered the control panel and easily swapped it out, and the problem is gone. I had purchased a service manual for the dishwasher, but did not need it for the repair. There was no video available on the AP3138219 control panel page, but the video on the AP3775506 control board page was more than sufficient for the easy repair. The only tools I needed were a torx driver, a flat blade screwdriver, and a pocket knife. (The pocket knife was only needed to score a couple of plastic tabs that needed to be removed.
