Description
The Control Box is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. Located inside the refrigerator housing, the control box acts as the central command center, housing all of the electrical components that control operations.
Causes of a bad control box can include moisture infiltration causing shorts, failing electronic modules, loose wiring connections, or damage from impact or falls.
Symptoms of a bad control box include:

- Failure to detect when doors are opened
