Jeffrey S Pittsfield , NH February 03, 2015 Appliance: Model WHIRPOOL GU3100XTVB My local appliance repair man said it needed a new control board and quoted $430 installed I paid the $90 service call for the diagnosis of my dish washer, Googled my model number, and found appliancepartspros.com I searched for my model number quickly found the parts list for my dishwasher. I looked at the picture and although there were three control boards there was only one part number on the drawing. I hoped the one they had was the one I needed and ordered it with a click. It cost 145 delivered. At this point I was into the project to the tune of $235. When it arrived I was surprised to find my order included all three circuit boards along with the all the cabling. They had shipped me everything related to the control I could need. Before I started the installation, I took a picture of my existing control boards showing all the cable connections with my cell phone just to be safe. All I needed was a screwdriver and my pliers to unplug a couple of the wires and within 30 minutes I had everything replaced. I plugged the dishwasher back in and it worked! It was really easy. Lastly, I looked at the paperwork that came with my order and found there was a core charge. I chatted with customer service at the website and found that If I shipped the bad parts back, I would get $60 reimbursed to my credit card. It cost me $20 to FedEx the parts back which brings my total cost down to $195. Less than half the price the repair man was going to charge me. It pays to do it yourself.
