Description

The Power Cord is an OEM component specifically designed for Whirlpool electric dryers. Extending from the rear of the unit, the durable cord safely channels the high current needed for power cycles and airflow. With a heat-resistant jacket and contact plug construction, the cord withstands ambient temperatures well beyond its warranty. 

Causes of a bad power cord involve flex fatigue through repeated positioning and weakening internal wires. Normal drying heat cycles may degrade insulating layers.

Symptoms of a bad power cord include:

  • Intermittent function or failure to start due to loose connections
  • Tripped circuit breaker following appliance connection  
  • Buzzing or humming issuing from cord during use
