Description

This hood damper replaces the vent flap that opens to let exhaust air escape and closes to block outside air and backdrafts when the hood is off. It restores proper airflow control for range/hood ventilation. What it does:

• Opens with fan operation to allow cooking exhaust to vent outside
• Closes when the hood is off to reduce drafts and prevent outside air entry
• Stops wind or odors from coming back into the kitchen when working correctly
• Common symptom: fan runs but little or no exhaust, or persistent backdraft/odors
