Description

This defrost heater melts frost from the evaporator during the automatic defrost cycle to keep air moving and temperatures stable. Replacing a failed heater restores normal cooling and helps prevent frost from building up on the freezer wall and coil.

• Heats the evaporator coil during defrost to clear accumulated frost and ice
• Helps maintain proper airflow and consistent refrigerator/freezer temperatures
• Common symptoms: heavy frost on the evaporator cover, refrigerator section warming, weak airflow, or fan noise from ice contact
• A failed heater often tests open (no continuity) with a multimeter
