Whirlpool 675611 Door Spring Assembly With Retainer OEM Part

I replaced both support springs. It took several tries to get the springs installed in the correct orientation, even though I had read--and thought I understood--the instructions. The retainer side pin must be fed through the slot with the adjustment notches, and then latch it in the proper notch. As my usual rule of thumb, I start in the middle notch, and adjust further if necessary. This time the middle notch was correct. I used a screwdriver handle as a wedge on the one side of the machine that was tight to the wall, and was able to do all of the installation without having to jockey the machine out of the original location. I only had to remove the front cover/kick plate. It was really an easy job.

I ordered the spring from Appliance Parts Pros. It arrived in one day. The instructions were easy to follow. I completed the job in about 15 minutes. The door once again works perfectly. I even had to contact customer service ( because I didn't see the "protector" part when I opened the bag. They were super helpful in helping me locate the part ( by describing it to me ) which was lying on my counter top.
