Description

This snap-in, plunger-style door switch detects when the appliance door opens or closes so the control can respond as designed—typically turning the interior light on or off and managing door-dependent functions. What it does:

• Senses door open/closed position and signals the appliance
• Toggles the interior light on and off with door movement
• Enables or pauses door-dependent features (fan, dispenser, alarms) on select models
• Common symptoms of a failed switch: light stuck on or off, door-ajar alerts, or features that only work with the door closed/open stop working

Install notes:

• Disconnect power before servicing
• The switch mounts in a rectangular opening near the door frame; release locking tabs and pull the old switch out
• Move wires to the new switch one at a time to maintain correct terminal positions
• Snap the new switch fully into place, restore power, and test door-activated functions
