Jack K Whitefish Bay , WI September 19, 2020 Appliance: KitchenAid Refrigerator KSC24C8EYY02 KitchenAid fridge water in bottom of fridge The evaporater drain was plugged. This is the second time in five years. I ordered new drip pan plate and drain tube. The old tube is very small and hard to clear. The inside diameter of the old tube in not much bigger than a wooden skewer. The drip pan which I replaced is about a 10 minute job. Remove 2 drawers and shelves. Remove evaporater cover (2) screws. Gently slide out old one and slide in new one. Old one was very corroded. The new drain tube is about twice the diameter of the old one. Huge improvement. That was a lot more challenging. In short slide out fridge, unscrew covers, clear drain. The only way I and a tech could figure to replace it, was to tip fridge at an angle, unscrew plastic drain pan, let fridge down, replace drain tube, tilt fridge to reinstall drain pan and redo everything back together. We did not want to crack the old drain pan, that was the reason for removing it while fridge was tipped. The new drain line is a big step forward.
