Whirlpool W10296563 Drum OEM Part

Fixed with a new drum and wheel.

Required total replacement of the drum. The drum came complete and ready to install. A lot of screws off and back on. The trickiest part was putting the belt back on. Good time to clean misc lint and debris from cabinet. Blower fan also required a good cleaning.

I Googled the issue and read up a little bit on what the problem was. Then I watched a Youtube video to see if it looked like it would be something I could do. I then downloaded the parts manual from the manufacturer and started looking for the part. Turns out that the felt seals had worn away, but I could not just replace those... I needed to purchase and replace the whole drum assembly. None of the local repair places had the part in stock. I was told it would be a 3-4 week lead time item. I have a family of 7 and could not wait that long... then I saw the site for appliance part pros. They had my part in stock, much less that it was listed for. I ordered the part on a Thursday morning and it was delivered next day by UPS. Saturday morning I opened the dryer up, saw that I had some bad drum rollers as well. Those I had to buy locally, and paid more than twice what appliance part pros had it listed for. But I pulled the drum, replace the guide rollers, fixed some damaged sheet metal on the bulkhead, and slid the new drum in. The dryer has never run so good, or so quiet.

Removed and replaced the drum that had a rip develop on the door end which was in line with the two rollers positioned at the 4 and 8 o'clock position supporting the rotation of the dryer drum.
