Also they were charging three times Whirlpool list for the part. Continuity checked element with ohm meter - ok. Replaced switch. Problem solved. Mine had enough slack in wiring to lift cooktop from island & support. 12-15 screws to lift off glass and you're there. Familiarity with a multi-meter is a plus to diagnose correctly.
