John T Lakewood , OH August 12, 2017 Oven very slow to start to heat (10 15 minutes) broiler that same one top burner would not light The Amana stove is 17 years old but in very good shape. I had previously bought a gasket kit from ApplianceParts for our refrigerator so I got on the web site to see what I could find out about the stove. It Indiicated that the problem was probably faulty ignitrers. Ordered the parts. Installed all three in about 45 minutes. Stove is now working just fine. Robert W North Franklin , CT March 09, 2015 Appliance: Amana Self Cleaning Slide-In Gas Range ARGS7650WW Oven wouldn't light and one stovetop burner wouldn't light The most likely cause for the oven not to light is a weak igniter. I thought at first it was alright because it did glow red, Apparently it didn't draw enough current to allow the safety valve to open. The new igniter fixed it - 3 screws and a plug-in connector - all done. The stove top igniter was a little tougher. the burners were attached by screws and the screws were badly corroded. I had to drill them out. Also, the igniter was held to the bottom of the burner with a badly corroded screw. That screw had to be drilled out and replaced as well. Once the new igniter was in place, the burner lights as it should. It was easy to get the right parts by providing the make and model of the stove. The price was right, too. John B Alter Sierra , CA March 13, 2017 Appliance: Model AMANA COOKTOP One burner would not light from the spark lighter we needed to use a match or candle lighter Removed the burner assembly from the cooktop and attempted to remove the Philips screw holding the spark lighter to the burner assy. The screw would not budge, soaked the screw in WD40 for an hour and again was unable to remove the screw. eventually the screw driver bit spun around in the top of the screw making any attempt to use a screwdriver impossible. Finally I broke away the ceramic insulator leaving the mounting plate attached to the burner. I then used flat screwdriver tp lever the mounting plate up then bent it back and forth until it broke, I was then able to remove the plate and expose a small area of the screw thread which I soaked again in WD40. I used a small hammer to tap on the top of the screw to break it loose. I was then able to remove the screw using a pliers. Read More...
