Catherine P Eagle , NE September 05, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Self Cleaning Free Standing Electric Range MER5530AAW Stove top element broke and which then caused the light that says the element is on to stay on even when it was off I got online to research what the problem could be and came to realize the infinite switch had probably shorted out when the element broke. While looking for the part I came across an appliancepartspro video that showed me exactly how to replace the switch. I ordered the switch from applicancepartspros.com, which arrived in two days! I watched the video again while installing the part and had it done in less than 30 minutes. The hardest part was lining up the end caps as I put the stove back together, which really wasn't hard, just took a little patience in getting things lined up. Suzanne D Fond Du Lac , WI January 07, 2019 Actually the burner still worked but the brackets supporting it had given out and would no longer hold the burner up Just ordered a whole new burner and plugged it in. I did notice that the new burner had a slightly different design for the bracket supporting it. Seems a bit sturdier, so hopefully will last longer. Read More...
