Both the motor and field assembly burned up after purchasing a used KitchenAid k45ss mixer

I purchased a used Kitchenaid k45ss mixer online. After I received it, I started it up and heard a grinding noise and it had a burnt electrical smell. I opened the mixer up to grease the internal gearing and worm gear, believing that this would help. The mixer still had the original grease in it, and was in need of cleaning and re-greasing. After I put it back together, the motor finally burned up and froze. I had used appliancepartspros before, so I looked up the motor field assembly/armature and ordered them with no hassle. They arrived at the same time, and the videos provided by appliancepartspros made installation super easy and the components fit perfectly.

One of the governor weights broke off and shorted the field coils

New governor, new field coil and adjusted the speed.
