Dismantled washer and replaced defective valve and installed new hoses. The repair went very easily and the washer worked perfectly as a result. Ada S Cary , NC December 29, 2018 Appliance: Maytag Atlantis Washer MAV7650AWW My cold water wouldn't work only hot water would come out when i selected cold water the machine would just make a humming sound I'm a newbie and removed the top, I removed the back of the control panel. I tried to turn off the water at the connectors but had to go to my main line to shut off after making a mess with the hot water line. I disconnected the old water inlet valve making sure to track where the electric connections were hooked. I carefully replaced the piece as well as updated my rubber hoses to braided hoses. I ordered the correct water inlet valve assembly, along with a new set of hoses from Appliance Parts Pros. It's a pain in the neck to work on stackable front-loaders in a closet so I had to haul them out before I could separate the two machines. Once out and unstacked (with the help of a friend) I was able to remove the top cover of the washing machine to replace the part. Note: Be sure to turn off the lines to the machines as well as unplugging them. Also, remember to clean the hose bibs and check for water flow before reconnecting. The videos provided on Appliance Parts Pros and Youtube are very helpful. Helpful hint: Be sure to clean the drain filter before attempting to fill the machine otherwise all that water that may not drain will be all over your floor. Read More...
