Dwight S Nokesville , VA September 11, 2018 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MFI2569YEM1 The first repair was replacing a dead circuit board in the frig. The second repair was maintenance items including a drip pan and a new freezer gasket A tree had fallen across our power lines and the resulting power surge fried the circuit board. The diagnosis was a bit difficult and involved an educated guess based on how the frig was acting. The display was dark unless a button was pressed and the inside light worked but that was all. I had to rule out the compressor as the root cause so I back fed power to the compressor and heard it and the condenser fan fire up. I ordered the board and found the only way I could get it overnight was to ship it to my work which lead to a delay due to a fraudulent concern that my billing address was not my ship to address. Problem averted, I got the board the next day and after installing it the frig worked perfectly. The pricing was reasonable and the service was good (except for the conversation with the fraud manager!) so I ordered some maintenance parts a couple of weeks later. Again the experience was good. The drip pan is installed but I'm still waiting on the freezer door seal gasket which I expect in another day or so. A side note and good insurance, I ordered a surge protector designed for refrigerators with a 4 minute timer delay to prevent the on and off voltage surges that occur after a power outage Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
