Bryon P Pasadena , MD November 18, 2021 Appliance: Model FRIGIDAIRE Refrigerator door gasket ripped The gasket was the correct size, but the door style isn't very friendly for replacing the gasket. You have to push the new one into the existing slot and when you take out the old one the slot is too loose for a strong fit that retains the new gasket correctly. Solution, use a good grade of expanding glue, Gorilla Glue, and put a small bead around the backside of the gasket when you replace it. A small amount only. Clamp/weight the gasket down for 2 hours until the glue sets, then remount it to the refrigerator. If it needs to be replaced in the future, the small amount of dry residual glue can be scraped off the door frame with a putty knife.
