Whirlpool did not offer the bearings without purchasing the back half of the tub for $350.00. I purchased a kit with a new seal for $75.00 and replaced them myself. Bjorn V Flower Mound , TX April 29, 2018 Appliance: Model GWH9400PW0 Musty smell I first watched the video showing me how to replace the tub seal. This probably covers everything you need to know about taking apart and putting together this unit. Completely disassembled the washer and power washed the back of the basket around the spider. There was light corrosion on the spider. Cleaned the tub and installed new gasket. Replaced tub to pump hose and discharge hose. Replaced the bellow tub seal and installed new spring. Replaced dispenser to tub hose. Cleaned ventilation pipe and exhaust hose. Cleaned drain hose connector. After only 8 years of use, we did not baby it...Lots of use however the basket bearings went south, taking the spider shaft & outer basket with it. I have found some used parts (outer & inner basket) in great shape too? With a new seal. Took a few hours to repair, was actually harder getting the machine out of the house than repairing it,,, very simple inside.
