Description
This gearcase is the washer transmission that transfers the motor's power to the agitator and tub so your washer can agitate and drain properly. Replaces a worn or damaged transmission to restore normal wash motion. What it does:
- Transfers motor torque to the agitator and inner tub to produce wash and spin actions
- Houses gears and shafts that control direction and agitation patterns
- Commonly replaced when the washer won't agitate, makes grinding or rumbling noises, or the agitator spins freely
- Works with the washer's clutch and motor coupling to enable load movement
What's included: One gearcase assembly. Install notes:
- Disconnect power and water supply before beginning any repair
- Installation requires disassembly of the washer cabinet and removal of the agitator, drive coupling, and motor
- Inspect related parts (agitator, drive coupling, seals) and replace if damaged
