Description

This gearcase is the washer transmission that transfers motor torque to the agitator and basket to restore proper agitation and spin. It replaces a worn or damaged gear assembly to help your washer operate normally. What it does:

• Converts motor rotation into the low-speed/high-torque motion needed for agitation and the higher-speed motion for spin
• Contains gears and housing that control basket and agitator movement
• Common symptoms indicating a failed gearcase: loud grinding or whining noises, washer won't agitate or spin, or intermittent drive
• Works as the mechanical link between the drive system and the wash basket
