Description

This genuine OEM part is a gearcase for washers. The gearcase is the metal housing that holds the components of a washer's transmission. It serves as a protective exterior to the transmission. If the gearcase is no longer secured to the washer tub, or if the washer is no longer rotating properly the gearcase will need to be replaced. To replace this part, start by unplugging the washer. Once unplugged, proceed to remove the back panel of the washer. Once removed, locate the gear case behind the drum of the washer. Once located, remove the four screws that attach it to the unit and proceed to pull the gearcase off of the washer. After it is completely removed, line up the new gearcase to its mounting holes and thread the screws to secure the gearcase.This replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand washers.
