Whirlpool 74003320 Glass, Inner OEM Part

After many years of excellent service the burner I use most often on the top of my JenAir range rusted through. After trying to remove the burner, which was firmly rusted into place, I decided to replace the cooktop pan, both burners and igniters. It was an easy repair to swap out the new parts for the old, and the only tool necessary was a #2 phillips screw driver. The only difficulty was that although the cooktop pan appears symmetrical, the screw hole pattern on each side is different. I did not discover that until the burners and igniters were all installed, backwards of course! Once together in the right orientation, the refurbished 2 burner unit slid right into place and worked perfectly. The only thing is now the other two burners look shabby and old so I have ordered all new parts for the other side as well. The stove will look brand new when the other is replaced and all for much less than a new range!

Real easy fix- 30 to 45 minutes. Remove the door from the stove and lay on a blanket as not to damage the door. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the outer door trim and panel to gain access. Once inside remove the screws and brackets holding the middle glass. Then remove the screws that hold the metal insert that holds your inner glass and replace it. I recommend using a screwdriver and not a drill driver as to not over torque and possibly break any glass. Remember there are no gaskets around the glass pieces so be careful and reassemble in reverse order. Take pictures as you disassemble if you are not sure of yourself to put your mind to ease during reassembly!

I checked out You Tube videos to see how complicated the repair might be. It looked pretty straight forward. I then submitted a question about the repair to Appliance PartPro. Got a fast, clear answer and decided I could do the work myself. Ordered the part on a Friday, it arrived on Tuesday. Installed the glass on Wednesday.
