David R Jemison , AL February 09, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Dryer LER7646EQ0 The lever to turn on dryer was broken the handle was broken and the latch was broken I opened the top of the dryer (after watching the video on your website) and replaced the lever on the switch. Removed two screws near the lint filter, used a putty knife to release fasteners under the top and raised the top. Held it in place with a short piece of board then removed the two screws holding in the switch and lever. Replaced the broken lever with the new one and put it all back together. The handle was a little more difficult as it took a lot more prying with a screwdriver to get it in place. It was discovered that the door latch was not broken and just needed to be put back in place. I will keep the new one in case it ever does break. Hope this helps. Read More...
