Whirlpool WP74011767 Range Door Handle OEM Part

Ordered a new one and replaced it,

Took off the back cover exposing the ends to the heating element and disconnected the spade connectors off of the element. Removed the oven door and took out 2 screws towards the back of the oven on the bottom. (Inside the oven) next I removed I think 2 or 4 screws holding the element assembly down and removed element. Replaced using the reverse method.

Replaced the upper handle. Removed the upper oven surface, cleaned and replaced the left front element. All parts came on time and were easy to replace. Saved me 100's of dollars from an appliance pro. Appliance Parts Pros will be where I shop for parts first.

We ordered a part from the instruction bood--had to find the important serial and model number--What a search. My grandson finally had to pull the entire stove two feet from the wall to find the necessary info . WOOPEE! found it and my little granddaughter could stand on top of the stove, stick her head behind it and read off the information!!. That was the hard part. Easy part followed Used the computer to order and the part and it was here in 24 hours!! Replaced by their Dad in about 10 minutes.

I went to a Youtube video that gave a step by step lesson on how to take the oven door apart in order to remove the old handle and then replace it with the new one. It was a bit complicated and even with the video instructions, it was quite challenging to get the brackets lined up for the screws and hold them in place till all the parts were in place. If I had it to do over, I would be more observant as to how I took it apart, thus, putting it back together would have been more clear. All in all, it was a good challenge and I felt a sense of accomplishment when the project was finished.
