Glenn M Modesto , CA August 16, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Dryer LE5720XSW0 Plastic door latch frame deteriorated making latch replacement necessary same deterioration problem with door handle Door latch was a snap (literally). Package included Instructions and parts for 3 different latch types and an easy identification method for each type. Just identify the correct latch type for your dryer and "Snap" it in to the cutout on the inside of the dryer door . The Door handle requires you unscrew the small sheet metal screws (three on my dryer) on the top edge of the dryer door. This allows you to separate the two dryer door halves (use a small flat blade screw driver to get the two halves started). Once you have access to the back side of the door handle opening just place the New Door Handle into the opening and snap it in place. The "snapping in place" takes a little effort due to the very close tolerances between the OD of the Handle and the ID of the Handle opening. While holding the New Door handle in place with my right hand I used my left thumb to push the door sheet metal just below the handle opening outward. This allowed enough clearance for the lower part of the New Door Handle to "Snap" into it's retaining slot. Fit the two door halves together, insert the 3 small sheet metal screws and you're done.. Easy Piesy!! Read More... 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
