Peter W Wilmington , NC January 18, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Dishwasher MDB7100AWW Latch handle broken I have used APP (AppliancePartsPros) before and they are my "Go To" business for appliance parts. Very good pricing, fast shipping, and return policy cannot be beat. I easily looked up and ordered the proper latch handle for my 16 year old Maytag dishwasher. It arrived in 2 days. I removed the 8 screws to remove the internal door cover. then removed one screw to remove the control panel cover and the latch mechanism. The remnant piece of the old latch was removed by pressing two plastic retaining tabs and out it came. I noticed Maytag had placed 3 soft pads (one above the latch and two in front that, I assume were dampen noise when using the latch. I believe these contributed to the eventual cracking and breaking of the original latch. So I scraped and removed these before inserting the new latch. Prior to this repair, the old latch was "hard" "difficult" (my wife's words) to operate. Now it is "easy" to use. Job done in 10 minutes. "Momma's happy, so I am happy !"
