The timer was fine but I figured I should replace both while doing it. Getting all the ice melted is what took the longest. Replacing the parts took approx. 30 minutes. Lucas K Washington , DC June 29, 2017 Freezer was icing up no cold air to fridge Initially replaced the thermostat from APP.com, but the problem returned after a couple weeks, freezer would just keep running without defrosting. Then went with option #2 to get the heater. This seems to have done the trick. Freezer now cycles and no longer building up ice. My freezer was a bit different from the video, but still the same basic mechanics, a relatively easy fix.
