James B Dixon , IL June 17, 2014 Appliance: Maytag 30" Built-In Electric Oven Non-Convection JJW8530DDQ28 The oven door on our jennair built in oven door would not close tight the oven light would not turn off I did some research and found out that this door problem was common. Appliance Pro had a good Q & A on this which led me to a repair kit for the model number of our oven. The kit included both parts of the oven hinges and the interior panel of the oven door. I also replaced the oven door gasket. The repair process went well. I followed the oven instruction manual for removal of the door and proceeded to take the door apart. It took about an hour working carefully and cleaning parts that were dirty. To get to the receiver pieces of the hinge you need to take out four screws and pull the oven out of the cabinet about 4 inches. The oven door works better than it did when it was new. Harry K Grants Pass , OR May 09, 2016 Appliance: Maytag 30" Built-In Electric Combo Convection JMW9530DAS30 Oven door wouldn't fully close and started to randomly fall off I called the Sears repair guy and he came out and charged us 90 dollars to tell us that the parts are no longer available for our unit and that we would probably have to buy a whole new oven and microwave wall unit to replace this one. I searched on AppliancePartsPros.com and found the parts I needed along with comments from other people who had been having the same problem. I got the parts quickly and installed them using the instructions that were also part of the kit. Everything fit beautifully and now I don't need to spend 2500.00 on a new unit. The repair person did give us a 100 dollar coupon to use towards the purchase of a new appliance at their store though. Seemed sketchy...Anyway. Thank You!!!!!! Read More...
