Brian P Shickshinny , PA January 08, 2023 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Wall Oven GBD307PDS7 The oven door was crooked; would not close unless forced downward We have a Kenmore double convection oven we use almost daily. The top oven is used more often and the door started to look crooked when it was in the closed position and would fall open unless it was forced downward then would seem to pop into position to stay closed. It also made a squeaking nose when it was opened. Also one of the oven door locks (for removal) was hard to move. Removed the door and taped the "light switch and door latch together to prevent the light from staying on. This lets us keep power to the oven and use the lower one while the parts arrived. Disassembled the oven door carefully using the video. I thought I would try to repair the hinges with new bolts, but decided to just order new ones as the spring is high tension and I like my body parts. New parts ( left and right hinges) arrived in 3 days. Replacing then required Phillips head screwdriver and the screws really needed to be torked into the new housing of the hinge body. Once it got a bite in the metal, the screws twisted in with some force. All are back together and working great. I have purchased other parts on AppliancePartsPros.com and again adding the model number shows the same parts for less cost . Easy parts breakdown images and the cross reference of other part numbers is very helpful. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
