After researching the problem it was obvious the hinge mechanism needed replacement. I found the hinge replacement for a 2001 KitchenAid single oven at AppliancePartsPros.com and a helpful video. I followed all of the instructions on the video and changed the door hinges. I cleaned my entire oven door and glass. It was easy to do and now my oven closes and is so clean.
