Be sure to note when you remove the screws (black) from inside the oven door (the two at the top only) the front outer glass pane comes completely out and should be placed off to the side. This is a great time to clean the inside of those front oven glass door panes if any food has dripped down from above. The next step involves a second set of screws (silver) to remove the old handle from the top door trim piece. Save your screws as you will need to reuse them on the new handle. There are plastic flanges at the ends that can be removed or replaced and come attached to the new handle. I actually used the new plastic flanges, which simply pop straight off, and placed them on the ends of the old handle because the the old metal handle fit the screws better than the new one. Be sure to put the flanges on correctly or the screws will not line up with the precut holes. Once you get the new handle attached to the upper door tri piece, you can then put the glass panel back in place and reattach the handle/trim piece on the inside of the oven door. This re-attachment can be a little tricky for one person doing the job since you will need to hold the front glass in place (I used my knee) while you screw in the inside upper screws. NOTE: the side trim goes BEHIND the front glass pane while the upper and lower trim forms a "lip" in FRONT of the glass door to hold it in place. It's a shame that I couldn't just purchase the small plastic flanges on the door handle itself since the metal door handle was perfectly fine to use. Read More...
