Ron Y Millsboro , DE July 24, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator GR2FHTXTB00 Leaking water filter housing It's bit of a chore in that on my Whirlpool Refrig you need to remove the grill on bottom front and the Utility Panel on bottom rear. Then unscrew the original filter housing and pull it out through the back of utility opening. Remove the two water hoses and put them into new filter house. Reverse the disassembly process to reinstall new filter housing. I'm old and slow so the process took me about 45 minutes. (Note: Unplug electric and turn off water inlet before starting.) Kevin A Sterling , VA July 09, 2016 Appliance: Model 106.74254402 Leaking water filter housing Unscrewed from the front of the refrigerator but due to the design of this particular model, the housing needed to be removed from the rear of the refrigerator. Unlike the video which shows and easy removal from the front, I needed to pull the refrigerator away from the wall, remove the back cardboard panel and squeeze the housing out over the drip pan. While not very difficult, be prepared to spend a little more time than shown in the video if you have a 106 model refrigerator. The replaced part worked with no leaks but unfortunately when I turned the water back on, the water inlet valve began to leak requiring another part order (10.5 year old fridge). The water inlet valve is an extremely easy replacement. Once replaced, the ice maker and water dispenser are once again working well with no leaks.
