Whirlpool WP61005971 Housing Assy., Auto OEM Part

I learned an $84 lesson, I discovered an adjustment screw on the auto damper control that has never been talked about anywhere on Google. The new part only brought the temp down to 40F. So I adjusted the screw counter clockwise 2 revolutions and checked the temp again after about 6 hours. The temp had dropped 4 degrees, so I gave it another 2 revolutions and now it's down to 30. The temp setting levers are on 5. I'm not certain what the temps should be at the settings 1-9 but I'm satisfied that the adjustment has fixed the problem. BTW this unit has been warm on the fridge side since purchased new, we thought it was having 3 kids in and out of the fridge often caused the problem. Hope this helps someone. This took about a week to troubleshoot, replace with new part that wasn't needed, and most of the time was waiting for the unit to cool back down after having the door open for periods of time. Actual part change time was less than an hour.
